J&K Signature Styles has opened its first company-owned location on High Street in San Fernando.

The new location features a highly visible, well-positioned digital screen available for immediate advertising along with a rentable first floor targeted for completion by December 1. The new branch is located on the corner of High Street and New Street next to the San Fernando Teaching Hospital and obliquely opposite Courts, High Street.

The official launch and ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Saturday, October 31.

This project marks an important milestone for the company, owned by husband and wife Keron and Joanna James.

The opening of the store in their very own building comes as the company prepares to celebrate 11 years of supplying locally designed work apparel created for the Caribbean woman by catering to her vibrant aesthetic with year-round colour and her diverse sizes with styles ranging from of XS to 4XL.

With branches in Port-of Spain, Grand Bazaar, Gulf City Mall and Trincity Mall, the launch of the High Street location now fulfils the plan to move towards company-owned locations and provides a more sustainable path through the ongoing effects of COVID-19 and beyond.

The company said via a press release that in 2018, as part of its strategic planning efforts, the company determined that a shift in its business model was needed in order to facilitate the growth of online sales and address the effects of the slowing economy.

This shift included the development of an online e-commerce store, expansion of the brand through franchising in other Caribbean islands and Guyana and a move towards company-owned locations in Trinidad and Tobago.

In December 2018, the company launched its online store, www.jksignaturestyles.com and now enjoys an active customer base that spans the English-speaking Caribbean islands and Guyana.

In attendance at the store’s opening were Mayor of San Fernando, Junia Regrello and Assistant Commissioner of Police Floris Hodge-Griffith who assisted with ribbon cutting formalities.

The event was hosted by local entertainer, Nikki Crosby and attracted fans of the brand from across Trinidad to celebrate the milestone.
